Choosing the right market is instrumental to your online success. It’s much more difficult to create a new market than to enter an existing market that is already highly profitable for existing businesses. The good thing about online business is that you can start a new business in a new market without as much overhead and headache as in the real world. If there are many players in a market that’s also good because you can see what the best people in your market are doing. You can then offer more value, match and beat their offering and dominate the market. You can switch between a few markets before you find your niche. The only mistake we make is the one we didn’t learn from. Be tenacious and keep trying. Do something that you’re passionate about, you’ve heard it before but it really is true that you need to give freely before expecting any return. Choose that area that interests you and where you can really benefit other people. Some people may not have a passion and maybe making money is one of them. You can find a product that is useful in that area and promote that.

As for me, my passions are:

Connecting with other young guys
Playing sport, in particular cricket, rugby, soccer and tennis.
Nutrition, eating a balanced diet
Fitness and Health
Spiritual Growth – I’m a follower of Jesus
Making money
Building profitable websites

These are the areas that I’ll focus on in one way or the other. It’s so important to finish each project that you start. Often another idea will spring into your head before you’ve finished and you’ll be tempted to drop what you’re doing and move on, don’t. Finish what you started and write down the new idea. This way you can have your current project making money or at least have a chance of while the new idea takes shape. It’s important to have an ideas book where you write all of those million or billion dollar ideas down and choose the best ones to take action on. Choose the ones that excite you the most.

Blogging and SEO - A perfect Small Business Internet Marketer Match

It has become pretty obvious that blogs have been become an important part of marketing for almost any type of online business.  They are unmatched resources when it comes to connecting with customers and potential customers.

But, there is an additional benefit that shouldn't be over-looked:  there impact on your Search Engine Optimization efforts.  Blogging can greatly enhance any websites natural search results through regular postings, and natural keyword placement. There in fact is no stronger way to market ones website for free than by blogging with natural keywords.

Similar to article marketing, posting daily blogs with the keywords of your business included can have remarkable effects on the ranking of your site in any given search engine, and thus net you more traffic. One key to gaining more traffic from keywords is to use ‘niche’ keywords. These are keywords or keyword phrases that may be searched for less often, but that have less competition. This means you may be able to rank much higher for these keyword. An example: The keyword term “baseball” is certainly searched for often, but there are millions of websites optimized around this keyword. However a keyword phrase like “Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz news” would have fewer competitors. The longer keyword also increases the likelihood that your blog contains exactly what the visitor is looking for.

Getting picked up in search engines can lead to increase volumes of traffic heading to your site every day. There are top keyword placers that use blogs to retain huge amounts of daily traffic to their sites just by integrating a variety of niche keywords into their posts. The amazing thing about blogs is they are often picked up by the search engines almost as quickly as one posts to it, which makes it an even more powerful tool for SEO purposes.  Our experience has been that blogs that take advantage of Google's Blogger or Wordpress are quickly indexed.

Another way blogging can help your site’s search engine ranking is by the quality score. Most search engines, including Google rank sites with a quality score, the more unique, user provided content, the higher it appears the quality score becomes. If a website is just a sales page, and a few pictures, the quality score will most likely be low. But if a site has a blog on it, with fresh, daily posts, the quality score becomes much better, and thus the site gets ranked much higher when people are searching for your niche, or keyword terms.

If you haven't considered a blog for the pure marketing aspect of it, it's probably time you considered it from the SEO perspective.  You've got nothing to loss but website visitors.

3 Ways Coaches Can Use Their Site To Get More Clients

Trying to get clients can seem like a catch-22. In order to hire you, they need a strong sense of what you do. But to get that sense they need to work with you first!  It's because of this hurdle that direct selling or direct response methods like cold calling or placing ads don't work. Those channels don't get you clients directly. So how can coaches deal with selling the unknown? Make it known and use your web site to do it!
Coaches have a big challenge when seeking clients. They are selling the unknown.

By unknown, I mean that most people who can benefit from coaching, whether it be business coaching or personal coaching, either never heard of it or don't really understand how it works.

When people work with a coach for the first time, there usually comes a point when they say “a ha!” and are better able understand the value they can get.

So trying to get clients can seem like a catch-22. In order to hire you, they need a strong sense of what you do. But to get that sense they need to work with you first!

It's because of this hurdle that direct selling or direct response methods like cold calling or placing ads don't work. Those channels don't get you clients directly.

Dealing with this challenge can be frustrating for many new coaches. They really want to help their clients succeed in their business or in their life, but getting the prospect to sign on the dotted line doesn't happen as often as they would like.

So how can coaches deal with selling the unknown? Make it known and use your web site to do it!

Here are 3 ways:

1 – Write web site copy in terms of “what they do know.”

Prospective clients can relate to their pains and troubles. Their pains and troubles might include not having enough time in a day, trouble sleeping at night, or not making enough money.

They can also relate to where they want to be in the future. Some examples could be having lots of income, having peace of mind and having a happier life.
So when you are writing about your services, be sure to start with things your prospect already knows about, such as their pains and their desires.

Additionally, case studies and testimonials of others you have helped would further your prospect's understanding of what you do. These examples are most effective if they are written in terms of initial problems and end results.

By explaining what you do in terms they know directly, you better communicate what you do. When prospects clearly see what they can get from working with you they are more excited and more interested in working with you.

2 – Give away free information.

Compile an article or report that is helpful to your target prospects. Choose a topic that is directly related to their problems or situations. Then make that report available on your web site for download.

This strategy has a lot of value:
•    Everyone likes free helpful stuff, so they will take action to get it.
•    Once created, giving it out takes almost no time to do.
•    It tells the the prospect that you know their about their business, thus making you a good choice for helping them.
•    Sending people to your web site creates another relationship building “touch.”
•    People can refer this report to other people, increasing your visibility.

3 - Give away a free online assessment.

Create a series of questions on your web site. Then invite your visitor to answer them in return for a score and an interpretation of that score. This gives them helpful information about themselves and gives them a sample of what you do.

This technique has a lot of value similar to the report idea. It's free, doesn't take a lot of time or money to implement, it is automated, it gives value, and it can be referred to others.

Additionally, you can determine which prospects have stronger needs based on their responses. With that information, you can target your sales efforts towards them and increase your closing rate.

In conclusion, use your web site as a tool for educating your prospects. Doing this will gain more trust and grow the relationship until they eventually become your paying client.

4 Quick and Easy Insider Tips To Turbo-Charge Your Google Adwords’ Sales

Uncover little-known Google Adwords strategies you can implement moments from now to boost your response. While most advertisers continue to waste their money, you're implementing techniques savvy advertisers are using to rake-in more sales and leads!

4 Quick and Easy Insider Tips To Turbo-Charge Your Google Adwords' Sales!

By Rod Beckwith and Jeff Alderson

If you want to boost your clickthrough rates and slash your advertising costs moments from now, then pay close attention.

Because you're about to uncover 4 surefire techniques to dominate your Adwords' listings… practically wiping-out your competition at the same time.

Best of all, they're quick and easy to apply.

Let's get started:

1.    Experiment with dynamic headlines - Dynamic headlines replace your normal ad headline with what the searcher types in.

So, if the searcher types, “Furniture”, this appears in the headline.

And if the searcher types in a search phrase that can't fit, such as “Affordable quality furniture,” then it reverts back to your default headline.

Use it by inputting, “{KeyWord:Quality Furniture}” in the headline portion of your ad.  “Quality Furniture” is your default headline.

Also, note that the “K” and “W” are capitalized in “KeyWord”.  This means that the first letter in each search phrased is capitalized.  For instance, “Fun Furniture,” instead of “Fun furniture” (if you had “Keyword”).

Dynamic headlines almost always significantly boost clickthrough rates.  But, they also sometimes reduce the quality traffic you get.

You should experiment with dynamic headlines.  If you find that an Ad Group is producing low-quality traffic, then you would toss the dynamic headline… and add a qualifier instead.

Some examples of a qualifier are to add a price to your ad, using the words “For serious customers only”, “buy now”, or to use words that call-out targeted customers to click on your ad.

Also, try adding words around the dynamic headline, such as, “Unique {Keyword:Furniture}”.  This works best in Ad Groups with only a few keywords.

2.    Test ad positions - because the highest one isn't always the best.

Keep in mind, the number 1 position usually produces the MOST traffic.  However, it does not always produce the BEST quality traffic.

Instead, you can continually adjust your bids (based on several days data) to target lower positions instead.  Depending on your market, you may target position three or four.

Remember, many bidders daily budgets cut off their campaigns near the end of the day.  This means you get their top positions for a fraction of the cost!

3.    How to use site selection correctly - The site selection option allows advertisers to place their ads on specific content sites.

It is a completely different animal than search traffic.  And varies from normal content ads.

Because instead of paying per click, you're paying for impressions (or how many times your ad is seen).  This can be a lifesaver for some businesses and a waste of money for others.

It depends on the market.  Some markets produce terrible results with search traffic.  But, are great for selected sites. Why?

Well, usually it's because a market is in its infancy.  And your target market is NOT searching for what your have to offer.

Instead, the only way they can be reached is in their communities.  You must go to them.  These communities might be blogs, discussion forums, or news sites.

An example, might be a tool that creates video blogs.

Very few people are looking to do this.  But, LOT'S of normal blog publishers may easily be convinced that this is something they need to be doing.

The bottom line is… if you get good results with search traffic, then you probably want to pay per click for your content advertising.  The only exception is if you have a killer ad (that generates lots of clicks).  Because it will be cheaper to pay for impressions.

4.    Put your best performing text ad on your banner.

Most advertisers either stick only with text ads.  Or they use ineffective banner ads.  These are costly mistakes.  The smart way to do it is to find a very effective text ad.

Then, put it on your banner ad.  You will find that these normally out-perform your text ads.  And will be your most profitable.  Images may say a thousands words, but it's the right words that close more sales!

Your Guide to Top Search Engine Rankings

The most important techniques to ensure your website achieves high rankings in the search engines
Does it seem like no matter what you do your website just won't climb up in the search engine rankings? If so, your web site may not be optimized well enough for the search engines to increase your rankings. There are some very important factors that determine where web sites are ranked. These factors are referred to as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and they can make all the difference in your sites rankings.

Here are some of the most important factors that the search engines use in determining your rankings:

1. Web Site Content

Content on your site is one of the most important factors for successful search engine optimization. Your web site should provide valuable information on specific subjects relevant to your web site. Furthermore, your content should be updated regularly. It's not enough to just put up a few content pages full of information on your site and then never add to it. This is a continuous process that will help your search engine rankings if done correctly.

It's also important that you don't try to trick the search engines by flooding them with multiple versions of the same page, repeating the same content over and over. Doing that will not help your rankings and will eventually lead to your site getting banned from the search engines.

2. Link Popularity

Inbound links are very important for achieving high search engine rankings. Most of the search engines today regard link popularity as one of the most significant determinants of your website's rankings.

Here are some of the best ways to get inbound links:

* Articles - Writing and submitting articles to website's and article directories is a very good way to get inbound links.

* Content - Not only will adding quality content help in your rankings by itself, it will also help you with your link popularity. Other webmaster's will want to link to your site because it is valuable to them and their own visitors.

* Directories - Submitting your site to online directories will help you gain inbound links.

* Blogs - Start a blog that you update frequently with information related to your website's niche. Then, link to your site from the blog. You can also submit your blog to various blog directories to get even more inbound links.

* Link Exchanges - Simply find other quality sites related to yours and ask them to link to you in exchange for a link back to them. This is not as effective as it used to be but it is still a pretty good way to get inbound links.

When trying to increase your link popularity remember that the more inbound links you get the better, but quality is always better than quantity. Stay away from low quality sites, FFA's, and sites unrelated to yours.

The next things that should be considered when doing SEO for your web site are the on-site and the off-site elements. Some of the on-site elements are the title tag, Meta tags, heading tags, ALT tags and highlighting of the text using the bold tag. The Link text is an important off-site element.

On-Site Elements:

3. Title Tag and Meta Tags

Meta tags help describe the page where they are placed. Though today the Meta tags are not nearly as important as they once were and are definitely not the only things the search engines look for when indexing your site, they are still somewhat important in deciding the relevancy of the page for a keyword search.

Search engines focus on three primary tags to help them determine the relevance of a website for a particular search phrase. The Title Tag, Meta Keywords and the Meta Description...

Ideally the title tags should contain less than 64 characters with your most important keywords in them and should definitely be relevant to the content on the page. Do not stuff keywords in to the title tag!

The Meta description tag is a summary of the page and its contents. This Meta tag should be 200 characters or less and should contain keywords and phrases you hope to be found for, but it should also read like an introductory lead-in for the page and be appealing to the reader. The description you provide for your page has to convince the visitor that they have found exactly what they were looking for.

Probably the least important Meta tag to search engines is the keyword tag. However, it shouldn't be ignored. Keyword tags should be less than 1000 characters. This tag should include important keywords and phrases consistent with the body text, title, and content of the page. Be specific and accurate with the keywords and key phrases in this tag. Again, do not stuff keywords here... they should only be those that are actually on the page and do not repeat any word more than 3 times.

4. Heading Tags

The heading tags are given more weight than the ordinary text. The higher the H tag the more weight it carries. You should make use of the heading tags to highlight the important keywords and headings of your page as well as the paragraph headers.

5. Bold Text

Bold text is given a little more weight than ordinary text but not as much as heading tags. Make sure to enclose some of your keywords in bold tags when they appear on the page.

6. Alt Text

The alt tag provides alternative text when images cannot be displayed... This might happen if the users have set the browsers only to download the text and not the graphics, or if the images are too heavy to download for the user’s internet connection. Only include important keywords relevant to your site and the image and do not stuff keywords in them.

Off-site elements:

7. Link Text

This is a very important factor in search engine optimization to gain higher rankings. The link text can be on pages within your site or what other web sites use to link to you. Either way, it is important. If possible the target page's main search term should be included in the link text instead of just the URL. Do not use identical link text for every link, but do include the target page's main keywords in the link text. Links carry more weight when the text around them is relevant to the target page's keywords and phrases.

Following the above SEO information will help tremendously in your search engine rankings. Remember that the search engines are advancing all the time. Don't try to trick them because they will eventually catch on and that could mean the end of your web site. Stick to the basic techniques above and you will increase your search engine rankings without fear of being banned or dropped.
